Magic Hour is a simple lace shawl, pleasing to knit and a joy to wear. Its contemporary asymmetric shape wraps around the body easily and with knitting commencing at its widest point, the shawl grows rapidly. The sloping pattern is worked with a combination of just yarn overs and knit two togethers plus a further decrease on the sloping edge of the shawl gradually reducing the stitches. On completion of the main body of the shawl tassels are made from the remaining yarn and then drawn through the cast-on stitches and knotted in place.
The pattern includes both written and charted instructions for the shawl, so the knitter can work from their preferred approach. This is the perfect pattern for beginner lace knitters or knitters looking for a relaxing, easy shawl to knit.
The pattern contains full written and charted instructions as well as clear schematic diagrams. Includes a bonus Fringing tutorial PDF. YarnSusan Crawford Melissa Laceweight, 70% baby Alpaca; 20% Silk, 10% cashmere (548m / 600 yds per 50g skein)

This crochet heart pattern is an advanced beginner project, since it calls for some increases and a variety of different crochet stitches: single crochet, half-double crochet, double crochet, and treble crochet, and slip stitches. The heart pattern starts with a magic ring, and is worked in rounds.
You can make three different size hearts with this same pattern. You can make a mini heart by stopping after Round 1, a medium-size heart by stopping after Round 2, or a large crochet heart by stopping after Round 3.
Gauge: Gauge is not important to the success of this pattern. That said, I like to use a hook that is one or two sizes smaller than the hook called for on the yarn package. This way, the hearts are a bitter stiffer and look solid (without gaps between stitches).
The term magic number or magic constant refers to the anti-pattern of using numbers directly in source code. This has been referred to as breaking one of the oldest rules of programming, dating back to the COBOL, FORTRAN and PL/1 manuals of the 1960s.[1] The use of unnamed magic numbers in code obscures the developers' intent in choosing that number,[2] increases opportunities for subtle errors (e.g. is every digit correct in 3.14159265358979323846 and is this equal to 3.14159?) and makes it more difficult for the program to be adapted and extended in the future.[3] Replacing all significant magic numbers with named constants (also called explanatory variables) makes programs easier to read, understand and maintain.[4]
The problems associated with magic 'numbers' described above are not limited to numerical types and the term is also applied to other data types where declaring a named constant would be more flexible and communicative.[1] Thus, declaring const string testUserName = "John" is better than several occurrences of the 'magic value' "John" in a test suite.
where a is an array object, the function randomInt(x) chooses a random integer between 1 and x, inclusive, and swapEntries(i, j) swaps the ith and jth entries in the array. In the preceding example, 52 is a magic number. It is considered better programming style to write the following:
In some contexts, the use of unnamed numerical constants is generally accepted (and arguably "not magic"). While such acceptance is subjective, and often depends on individual coding habits, the following are common examples:
Since the Sixth and Seventh Editions of Unix employed paging code, the dual role of the header constant was hidden. That is, the exec() service read the executable file header (meta) data into a kernel space buffer, but read the executable image into user space, thereby not using the constant's branching feature. Magic number creation was implemented in the Unix linker and loader and magic number branching was probably still used in the suite of stand-alone diagnostic programs that came with the Sixth and Seventh Editions. Thus, the header constant did provide an illusion and met the criteria for magic.
In Version Seven Unix, the header constant was not tested directly, but assigned to a variable labeled ux_mag[9] and subsequently referred to as the magic number. Probably because of its uniqueness, the term magic number came to mean executable format type, then expanded to mean file system type, and expanded again to mean any type of file.
The Unix utility program file can read and interpret magic numbers from files, and the file which is used to parse the information is called magic. The Windows utility TrID has a similar purpose.
Used by VLC player and some IP cameras in RTP/RTCP protocol, VLC player sends four bytes in the order of the endianness of the system. Some IP cameras expect the player to send this magic number and do not start the stream if it is not received.
There are many answers to this but the short answer is any sewing machine. And in order to start sewing you need a pattern and to learn how to cut well. So you can start without a machine at first. Also if you are serious about sewing then we reccomend an industrial single needle sewing machine. Like cars they are designed and built for different roads (fabrics) so in the end not just any machine can be used but to start its whatever you got. These are the same exact patterns that are used in the top factories all over the world and by the top corporations and brands. They have been distilled to a consumer level and are at 1/4 of the normal industry prices. They are also thoroughly designed and updated to ensure actual 3D and arent just boxes with arms or legs like what you find online. There is a huge difference between simple t shirt patterns ie. how they fit and a trouser is not a jean... You also gain a community and a cool sewing teacher.
The language on the patterns, commercial patterns are desgined to be used by the factory and have all the communication neccessary for the factory, designer, sample maker to put it together. They also come as a marker for an average of a 48'' wide fabric. Consumer sewing paterns are distilled down and easier to understand and less definitive. They are more closer to blocks and the same pattern shapes as commercial but with less nuances and easier to sew and design with. The commerical patterns have a lot more subtilties and sculpting where as consumer is more straight foward literally ie. less 3D and easier to sew. Think of one really designed to fit and the other is more general.
PDF you can print anywhere, have on your phone or print at home. It saves space also. DXF is the industry and factory standard for patternmaking in which we translate it to PDF or an AI which is a vectorized version which you can a world of things with and to. Think PNG, GIF, JPEG and HEIC.
Not directly but when you are stuck you can ask Julian directly in the discord and he will guide you through whatever step. Instructions are coming soon for all the patterns but in the meantime Julian is at your service... 2ff7e9595c
